A free, year-long cohort at Christ Community Church for men who want to grow in intimacy with Jesus, build intentional relationships, and become equipped to make disciples.
Why this exists
Closing the gap
Men can attend church faithfully and still remain isolated, passive, or unsure how to put their faith into practice. This group creates the sustained environment of Scripture, instruction, honest relationship, accountability, and obedience needed for deeper formation.
The group uses Jeremy McCommons's Ordinary Men, a 27-session process built around three priorities: intimacy with Jesus, intentional relationships, and multiplication.

Gain the skills and confidence to fulfill the Great Commission by walking alongside another person as a mentor.
The Process
Seven discipleship principles
The final third of the 27 sessions works through these principles in turn.
1. Accept Him
Begin with repentance, faith, and a clear response to Jesus.
2. Know Him
Grow in intimacy through Scripture, prayer, and honest reflection.
3. Obey Him
Translate truth into concrete steps of obedience in daily life.
4. Make Sacrifices
Learn to count the cost and follow Jesus with intentional surrender.
5. Share Him
Practice speaking about Jesus with clarity and courage.
6. Love Others
Form habits of care, encouragement, and brotherhood.
7. Make Disciples
Move toward multiplication by helping others follow Jesus too.

The Commitment
Participants commit to all 27 in-person sessions, a monthly social/bonding gathering, assigned preparation and homework, honest participation, and respect for group confidentiality. Required reading includes the ESV Bible and four supporting books, totaling roughly $88; scholarships are available upon request.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this another Bible study?
No. While Scripture is our core guide, this cohort is heavily focused on practical application, obedience, and learning a repeatable process to guide other men in their faith.
Do I need ministry experience?
Not at all. This cohort is designed specifically for ordinary men who want to follow Jesus. No advanced theological training or ministry background is required.
How much does it cost?
Participation itself is free. Required reading materials cost roughly $88 total, and scholarships are available upon request.
Where will the cohort meet?
Sessions meet in person at Christ Community Church, every other Saturday from 8:30–10:00 a.m. There is no routine Zoom option.
What if I cannot join in September?
If you are unable to join the cohort in September, you can inquire about 1-on-1 discipleship, or contact us to find out when future cohorts are launching.
What level of commitment is expected?
Consistent attendance at all 27 sessions, a monthly social gathering, completed preparation and homework, personal transparency, and a willingness to practice what you learn in daily life.
